Abstract

The purpose of this Final Year Project is to develop a courseware that is specially catered for the hearing-impaired. The study will provide an insight into the difficulties faced by hearingimpaired children in attaining language and their limited success in the English language paper in public examinations, especially in Malaysia. The problems hearing-impaired students face learning grammar with an emphasis on the learning of preposition will be the focus of this study. For the development of materials in the courseware that focuses on the teaching of prepositions, the Communicative approach or the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) approach is used. Gagne's "Conditions of Learning" is used for the sequencing of materials in the courseware and in the design of the layout, navigation and so on
