Abstract

The main purpose of the research was to study the success of women entrepreneurs in Betong Sarawak. The aspects studied were the forms of success of Bumiputera’s women entrepreneurs in Sarawak, the factors that influence the success of Bumiputera Sarawak’s women entrepreneurs, the leadership characteristics needed by managers to achieve company success, the challenges faced by Bumiputera Sarawak’s women entrepreneurs and strategies that can be implemented to ensure success as a woman entrepreneur. The number of informants who have been interviewed were 6 women. The type of non-probability sampling by using purposive sampling was been done on this study. Each data is analysed, formulated, and categorized, and labelled with appropriate theme code. The results of the study found that social factors, attitude factors and environmental factors are among the factors that influence the success of women entrepreneurs in Betong Sarawak. In addition, among the strategies that can be used to ensure success as women entrepreneurs are such as improving entrepreneurial skills, expanding networks, providing the best services, and having skilled workers. It is hoped that the information obtained from the results of the study such as factors, characteristics, challenges, and appropriate strategies can be identified to improve weaknesses and shortcomings in women's leadership. In addition, this study is also expected to be used as a guide for future studies in the future.
