Abstract

This study is to identify and discuss the factors that influence the academic performance of students at SMK. Dabong. This study focuses on the factors that can affect students' academic performance such as the types of jobs and the level of parental income, parental education leve'l, interest and dedication among the students learn and also the environment in rural areas. The research design used in this research is descriptive and qualitative analysis. All selected respondents are Form 5 students from SMK Dabong involving men and women in this research. Data were collected using a questionnaire to obtain information through interviews and also directly from the respondents. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data and descriptive statistics used to see the demographics and perceptions of academic performance factors studied. Researchers found that the main factors affecting the academic performance of students in SMK Dabong is the factor of interest and enthusiasm among the students learn in all three categories for outstanding students, moderate and weak. The researcher also found that the next factor affecting the academic performance of students at SMK Dabong is family socioeconomic factors, namely in terms of parents' income and rural environmental factors.
