Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of woman marriage regarding their career development at the public and private sector. Participants that are involved in this study are woman marriage working at the public and private sector in management field around Kuching area. Six participants have been involved in this study. Three of them are working at public sector meanwhile another three are from private sector. Semi-structure interviews were being used as a method of data collection and the data were analyzed by using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Through this study, the researcher tries to understand more about the factors that can influence women marriage in their career development. The factors are categorize into two groups which are barrier factors and opportunity factors. From the study that have been done, among the barrier factors that had been identified was family conflict toward works, works conflict toward family, the facilities that are received and top management support. Meanwhile, for the opportunity factors are training and development, husband support, self-potential and coping challenges strategies.
