Abstract
Development ofAir Muscle Svsteni fbr Robotic Hund Application is a research in robotic field that involves the study of mechanism of air muscle and its related control system for the production of real robotic hand. Fabrication of the robotic hand and its system has been done in this research and it is found that the air muscle is useful for the development of the robotic hand since it is able to produce movement similar to that of human muscle. The air muscle also has high strength-to-weight ratio which is beneficial to robotic hand application since the whole system need to be wore by the user which consists of patient with no fingers or lower arm due to certain illness like diabetes mellitus or for former soldier that has lost his arm during his service in war. This is one of the objectives of the study apart from studying the mechanism of air muscle to fit the robotic hand. The whole fabrication is cost effective since it involves manipulation of materials available locally. The overall system are able to function as expected and the robotic fingers can be moved upon the application of compressed air into the system even though there is certain weakness in some parts of the system especially in the angle ofdellection ofthe robotic fingers
