Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate the factors that influence employee perception towards the quality of work condition in Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Alor Setar, Kedah. A total of 99 respondents were chosen by using a simple random sampling methods and questionnaires. The independent variables in this research were gender, age, education level, length of service, job enrichment, democracy supervising, job involvement, safety, job satisfaction, ability to growth and development in organisation. The data was analyzed statistically by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 11.5. The findings of this research study showed that demographic factors such as gender, age, educational level and length of service were no significant different on employee perception towards the quality of work condition. Moreover, the factors that influence employee perception such as job enrichment, democracy supervising, job involvement, safety, job satisfaction, ability to growth and development in organization were significant related to quality of work condition with the level of significant p < 0.01. The implication of these findings showed that the job satisfaction is dominant factor influencing employee perception towards the quality of work condition by using linear regression as a measurement. Hence, it is necessary for managers to sensitive with employees' job satisfaction in order to enhance quality of work condition in their organisation.
