Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the factors that influence the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training at Telekom Malaysia Bet-had, Miri branch. Specifically, the objectives of the study are: (a) to determine the relationships between demographic_factors, internal organizational factors and cognitive characteristics associated with transfer of training; (b) to determine the relationships between internal organizational factors and the perception of non�executive employees toward transfer of training; (c) to determine the relationships between cognitive characteristics and the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training and (d)to determine the relationships between demographic. factors and the perception of non�executive employees toward training tran. sfer. A questionnaire method was used to obtain feedback from 76 randomly selected respondents of various posts in the organization. The questionnaire was done in a four point scale rating one to . four (1 - 4). The questionnaire was divided into four main parts. Each part consists of factors that influence the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training. Part A aims to obtain information on the background of the respondent. Parts B and C are to obtain information on the. factors associated with internal organizational factors and cognitive characteristics. Part D consists of items related to the effectiveness of training transfer. The data acquired was analyzed using Statistical Packages. for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 11.0. The findings showed that there is no significant difference between demographic. /actors and the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training. ANOVA was used to analyze the demographic, factors. For internal organizational factors, only item on promotion of employees did not have any significant relationship with perception of non-executive employees toward training transfer. In the aspect of cognitive characteristics, there were significant relationships between the said factors and the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training. All factors were analyzed using Pearson Correlation Analysis method. The dominant factor that influenced the perception of non-executive employees toward transfer of training was analyzed using the Linear Regression Test. It was found that the environment , factor is the most dominant factor that affect training transfer
