Abstract
This study aims to identify the effect of commitment influencing the relationship between downsizing and absenteeism. In this research, the dependent variable is the absenteeism. Meanwhile, the independent variables is the downsizing, and moderation variable is the commitment. 80 of employees at Budi Construction & Engineering Co. are selected as a sample for this research. The instrument used is questionnaire created by researcher using five Likert scale and interview method. The results of this research showed that downsizing have significant differences with absenteeism. and the commitment can act as moderation toward the relationship between dependent and independent variables. The conclusion and recommendation that should be taken have been identified in this research.
