Abstract

This study is to find out the potential of using Readers Theatre to teach the selected poem, 'si tenggang's homecoming' by Muhammad Haji Salleh. The study aims to discover whether Readers Theatre assists in enhancing comprehension of the poem. It is also to find out the effectiveness of Readers Theatre to enhance students' comprehension of the selected poem. The study was conducted at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Muara Tuang. Kota Samarahan, Kuching. It involved 300 students from 10 Form Four classes. Data are collected using comprehension questions and students' journals. The analysis and discussion of the findings showed the effectiveness of Readers Theatre had enhanced students' comprehension of the selected poem.
