Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of saw dust and palm oil empty fruit bunch in clay brick Manufacuring. A hand molding process was used to produce the brick samples. There are 2%wt and 5%wt of saw dust and palm oil empty fruit bunch by mass that were used for this study. Compressive strength test and water absorption test were carried out. The result obtains from each samples were compared to differentiates the effects of the waste towards the clay brick. The results from the test show that saw dust is more suitable compared to palm oil saw dust in clay brick production. For compressive strength test, the average of 2% saw dust brick is higher than standard requirement of Malaysian Standard, while for 2% palm oil fruit bunch, the strength is lower than Malaysian Standard. For 5% samples, both wastes did not reach the requirement. Saw dust bricks also less porous than palm oil empty fruit bunch based on the water absorption test.
