Abstract

The study was conducted to assess the people's participation in project development. In this research, kampung Selabat that is located near Kuching was selected as the research area. The assessment is based on participant's involvement in the Pembangunan Manusia Berasaskan Kampung (PMAK) project. The purposes of the study are to determine how far the community involvement in the project development. The assessment was done based on the research objectives, which are to determine the participant's demographic background, participant's perception on the project and the factors which influenced people's participation. The methodology that used in the survey is based on the types of data collection and the research circumstances. The main tool in data collection process is done through interviews and questionnaires. The researcher uses the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) when analyzing the data. The researcher also uses the descriptive statistic to explain the research findings such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum and range. Research finding discusses based on the research objectives. The first part of chapter 4 discusses about participant's demographic background such as age, occupation, race, marital status, education, income and family expenditure. The second part is discussing the participant's perception in the project such as ownership, implementation, project discussion, benefit and the advantages of the project. The final part discusses the involvement factors and participant's involvement during the project implementation
