Abstract
The aim for this research is to determine the demographical factors that influence early retirement decision of support staff at MARDI Bukit Tangga, Sintok Kedah Darul Aman. This study also to look at the relationship between the demographical factors and the aspects of the right time for retirement for the financial and health aspects, having other plans for the welfare and enjoying life aspects, the changes of work that consist of heavier task and feeling bored and building up new career. For these purpose, these research involves 35 respondents who were selected as the sample for this study. Questionnaire method has been used in this study to attain the information needed. Respondent are given two weeks time to fill the questionnaire form, before handing it back to the researcher. These are 5 parts which are A, B, C, D, E and two open ended questions. Part A consist of respondent's demographic, where is the part B is to identify the right time for early retirement from the respondent's financial aspect. Part C is about health planing and part D is about other plans. Part E is about the changes of work respondent's view and the main factor that influences early retirement. Two methods are used to analyze data obtained, which are descriptive statistic and inferential statistic. The descriptive statistic is used to measure the frequency and percentage of respondents based on the demographical factor (sex, age, lenght of service and salary). The inferential statistic method involves t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation which are used to look at the differences and correlation between the factors mentioned and decision for early retirement. Analyzation is done based on the null hypotheses. The result of the study shows that the aspect measured have no significant difference between the sex and age factor. However, there is a significant correlation between lenght of service and the right time for early retirement for the financial aspects. There is also a significant correlation between salary and the right time for retirement for the financial and health aspects and having other plans
