Abstract

This study aims to find Out teachers' perceptions towards the use of cooperative learning in ESL classrooms in Min division. The study also attempts to find out the advantages of cooperative learning, problems faced by teachers in using the approach and suggestions that work well regarding cooperative learning. A total of 60 English teachers from 19 different primary schools in Miri di vision were selected as the respondents for the study. The data was obtained through self reporting questionnaires. Generally, the findings of this study reveal that the advantages identified by the majority of the respondents imply that cooperative learning approach can greatly improve the teaching and learning of the English Language.
