Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effects of training using metacognitive approach in solving science literacy problems. The dependent variable in this study was students achievement while the independent variable was the training given to the students. This research was an experimental design research where the students were divided into two groups, experimental and control group. Students achievement was measured by finding the mean difference between students interview during preinterview and post interview in both groups. It was found that the metacognitive training can help students to improve their performance in solving science literacy problems. This was based on the finding from the study that showed students in the experimental group achieved higher values of interview as compared to students in the control group
