Abstract
This study is about the production of foamed concrete which is to be used as sub base in road construction. The concept of this project is to invent alternative way in replacing the conventional way of constructing the sub base in road construction. The conventional design which is using the bakau logs and geotextile is suggested to be replaced with a new design of using the composite model which combines the different density and mix proportion of foamed concrete. Therefore, the role of bakau and geotextile in distributing the loading, taking up load from Down Crusher Run (DCR) and separating the layer between peat soil and Down Crusher Run (DCR) is taken over by the composite model of foamed concrete. Thus, the ability of the model to withstand dynamic load is tested in this study where the failure mode of the model is observed and analysed when the load is subjected. It is hoped that the application of foamed concrete in constructing the composite model will exhibit new idea in construction field and bring the development in the concrete technology study.
