Abstract

STUDY SKILLS can be defined as strategies that students used to learn and how students control their learning strategies through planning, monitoring and self-regulated activities like studying in school to tertiary level. The project uses questionnaire as its instrument in order to collect the findings from the respondents. The project employs a qualitative study approach to explain the views of UNIMAS TESL students about their study skills, and the learning problems that they face in preparing themselves for studying based on the selected study skills components. The findings revealed that some of the sub-skills in the study skills components ie. Reading skills, Note-Taking skills and Time Management were yet to be frequently practice out by the respondents to enable them to imply the study skills components successfully.
