Abstract

This project is aimed to determine the usability attributes of mobile phone interface used by older people. The scope of the project covers older users aged between 50 to 65 years old that has been using Nokia mobile phone. This project is using task analysis method where participants were required to perform all the tasks that assigned to them. The functions in the mobile phone are being evaluated in order to determine the usability of the mobile phone interface. The tool used in this project is Nokia 3315 mobile phone. The measurement taken into account is total elapsed time for each task participants' perform. The usability test result shows the usability attributes found in Nokia mobile phone. Le, ürnability attribute is found in the Nokia mobile phone especially in the function that partiL: p ants use frequently. However, the memorability attribute is lower found in the mobile phone :! 'ie to ageing process among participants especially in vision and hearing aspect. The number of errors is lower for the tunetiu.. that they familiar, whereas, for the function that participant used infrequently, the number of errors were higher. As a conclusion, the usability attributes are found in Nokia mobile phone among older people
