Abstract

This study aimed to identify the link between organizational culture and effectiveness in two types of industries, banking and telecommunication. Beginning with a model of organizational culture and effectiveness by (Denison, 1984, 1990, 1996; Denison & Mishra, 1995, 1998; Denison & Neale, 1996; Denison, Cho & Young, 2002), this study presented a multimethod analysis of culture and effectiveness. The findings showed that organizational effectiveness in the banking industry were correlated with overall performance, employee satisfaction and quality of products and services; and relied more on mission, adaptability and consistency. In the telecommunication industry, organizational effectiveness were correlated with employee satisfaction and relied more on consistency of cultural traits.
