Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that influence the characteristic of resiliency of workforce in an organization. This research was done at University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. There are 60 supporting staffs 1 and 2 of UNIMAS involved in this research as a respondent. Data was collected through the use of a questionnaire and it was analyze using The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) - 11.5. All the hypothesis are being tested by using Pearson, Independent Sample T-test and One Way ANOVA. The level of resilient for Unimas I and 2 supporting staff are at high level. The result indicated significant correlation between attitude and value towards knowledge, willingness to change, continues learning, self-motivation to learning and talent appreciating factors with the characteristic of resiliency of workforce. meanwhile there is no significant differences between demography factors with the characteristic of resiliency of workforce. Therefore, resiliency of workforce can be strengthen through appropriate approximation such as organize multi skill and knowledge training, creativity enhance program, technique to confront the changes and exploitation of talent in the job workshop
