Abstract

A study on the concentrations and distribution of heavy metals (Cd, Zn, Pb, Ni, Cu and Cr) in sediments of Sg Muarat Tebas mangrove was carried out. Heavy metals concentrations at each Sampling sites were analyzed using the Perkin Elmer Model P3110 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) and metal concentrations were investigated. Cr, Zn and Pb were accumulated in high concentrations in mangrove sediments at all sampling sites. Heavy metal concentrations at all sites decreased in the following order Cr>Zn>Ni. Pb>Cd>Cu.
