Abstract
Five hydrocarbon degrading fungal isolates was successfully isolated previously from petroleum oil sludge and identified. All of the fungi isolate showed significant enzymatic activities on hydrocarbon degradation. All of the fungal strains were cultivated in liquid minimal salt media (MSM) with 5% crude oil as sole carbon for a period of 6 weeks. The fungal isolates were analysed for ligninolytic enzyme for each weeks based on lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase and laccase. The remaining residual oil during treatment was analyzed using toluene and gravimetric method at an interval of 2 weeks. A versicolor (HDF 6) was the highest fungi activity in trial biodegradation followed by A. flavus (HDF 8) and B.ochroleuca (BHDF 7).
