Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the potential of renewable energy in Badung Swamp Lake, East Jakarta, as an off-grid power plant that supports the self-generation program. The renewable energy sources analyzed include solar, wind, micro-hydro, and biomass energy, which are then integrated into a hybrid power generation system. Through simulations using HOMER software, it was found that the best configuration of the system is capable of producing a total energy production of 321,436 kWh per year. Solar energy is the main source, with a contribution of 241,480 kWh per year, followed by wind energy of 66,053 kWh per year, micro hydro of 12,852 kWh per year, and generators of 1,151 kWh per year. From an economic perspective, this system is considered feasible with a Net Present Cost (NPC) of IDR 13.54 billion, a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) of IDR 5,884 per kWh, and a payback period of 13 years. From an environmental perspective, the hybrid system is able to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with carbon dioxide emissions of only 0.082 kg per year, compared to 920 kg per year in the diesel-based system. With the renewable fraction reaching 100%, this study shows that the hybrid power generation system at Badung Swamp Lake is feasible to implement.
