Abstract

The prevalence of mental illness among university students remains a critical public health concern. Web-based mental health interventions are given via web-based or mobile platforms, often known as eHealth interventions (World Health Organization, 2017). Improved mental health services are essential to serving the community in an accessible manner to reduce the mental health burden (Makivić et al., 2021). Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use does predict the continuance intention of using the e-government services in Malaysia (Hamid et al., 2016). The PS4-S portal has rise the question of ‘Is this mental health portal usable?’ To measure the usability and acceptance of technology in supporting the psycho-emotional wellbeing of undergraduate students, and to compare the intention to use the mental health portal between genders. This study utilizes a simple random sampling technique with a total number of 189 participants. The instruments used were Psychoemotional Support for Students (PS4-S), System Usability Scale (SUS), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The results shows There is a significant relationship between usability and intention to use the PS4-S portal. Also, there is a significant difference of intention to use PS4-S portal between genders. The Psychoemotional Support for Students (PS4-S) portal is usable and accepted by undergraduate student. Most importantly, students’ intention to use the PS4-S portal is determined by the usability of the portal. Hence, positive user experience is deemed important to determine their future behavioral intentions especially in mental health help-seeking behavior.
