Abstract

To enhance the quality of life in the city center, the provision of adequate low-cost housing will improve sustainable development. However, ensure an adequate supply of low-cost house is not the problem; supply a house with a good physical and social aspect is the highlighted issue. The objective of this study is to investigate the physical and social factor that contribute to satisfaction of the residents. Example of physical and social factor is dwelling unit features, housing condition, neighborhoods condition, health and safety, and outdoor environments. At the same time this study aims to identify the relationship between the satisfaction of low-cost housing resident how it relates to quality of life. The methodologies used in this study are direct observation, semi-structured interview, and open-ended questionnaire. This study found that housing condition factor contribute to housing satisfaction. Housing satisfaction also have a significant relationship with quality of life.
