Abstract
Hylarana is a member of the Family Ranidae that can be found in Asia, Africa and Australia. This genus is an important indicator of habitat disturbance especially in flooded paddy fields. The study was conducted to identify the current distribution of Hylarana in Northern Sarawak, and to identify the best environmental predictor(s) that influenced the distribution of Hylarana erythraea in Northern Sarawak. Majority of the high suitability area for the H. erythraea lies mostly in disturbed freshwater habitat. Environmental variables that affect the genus of Hylarana distributions are temperature annual range (Bio7), mean temperature of driest quarter (Bio9), and mean temperature of coldest quarter (Bio11). By studying this genus, it can increase our awareness of the condition and distribution range of the genus of Hylarana would help us better understand their population dynamics and make conservation planning more effective.
