Abstract
Amphibians (Anura) are one of the animals that can be found most in Borneo including in Sarawak. One of the non-riparian species that can be easily spotted is from the family Rhacophoridae. This study aimed to elucidate the diversification of frog (Family : Rhacophoridae) lineages of non-riparian species that can be found in Western Sarawak. The samples used in this study will be analysed using molecular techniques such as DNA extraction, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and DNA sequencing. Cytochrome-b (cyt-b) is the primer. Finally, the sequences are then aligned by using Molecular Evolutionary Genetic Analysis (MEGA) X Software. The alignment for all 10 Rhacophoridae species including 1 species outgroup (Pulcharana baramica), had comprised 541 bp in the final dataset. The result showed that the phylogenetic relationship of Rhacophorid in Western Sarawak was monophyletic with respect to the outgroup.
