Abstract

SMART; Merit System for UNIMAS residential college using Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)is a system that can help the college administrators to manage the activities of college students. With this system, it can save time, energy and improve profiling data. This system will replace the currently system and using student card as identification during the process of taking attendance. As we know, the college's merit is very important for all students because it will determine in college's offered for next semester or not. Technology Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) is a method that effective in student attendance system for acticities organized by the college. At the end of the semester, this merit data will be kept for future reference. Main contribution for this proposed project is to provide a level of data security using database system that has never been possible with attendance management systems using physical data collection, to save time and money and to improve the profiling of the system to provide a holistic view of student contributions. This project is developed by the method of System Development Life Sysle(SDLC) and this type of methodology is also called waterfall model. Testing result are included in this thesis and the satisfaction rating from user in form of graph. This thesis also stated some limitation of the proposed project found after testing and evaluation.
