Abstract

Maintaining the home security is regarded as an important practice in everyday life. As the number of burglary crimes is increasing, a precaution is very necessary to prevent crime such as burglary and home invasion from occurring. Therefore, various investigations have been carried out and various ttipes of security systems have been proposed and implemented in the studies and projects in the past. Therefore, the purpose of this final year project is to propose a prototype for the wireless home alarm security system which are flexible, portable and more practical to be used in everyday life. In terms of technology, this project combines different types of technologies that are more practical for application in real life such as sensors, cameras, microcomputer and SM. S and MMS gateway. Internet plays a very important role in connecting the hardware and software components to achieve the objectives of this project. In producing a prototype of the system, this project use Rapid Application Development (RAD) as methodology in order to meet the user requirement. Next, some tests are conducted to test the prototype's capability and how to use it in everyday life. The final chapter will discuss the results of the tests for any improvement and recommendation for future.
