Abstract

This research is about the comparison of traditional and modern wedding traditions Iban in Sarawak. There are three objectives of the study will be assessed in this research. The first objective is to understand the concept of marriage customs modernization Iban. The second of the objective is about the management for the Iban’s wedding in before the wedding, on the wedding and after the wedding ceremony in nowadays. The third objective is the differences or the comparison of the wedding customs in between traditions and the modern era. The location of this study will be in Miri, Sarawak. Research methodology that will be used in the study is a qualitative method of interviews and words. Analysis of the results showed that the indigenous Iban traditional marriage is rarely used anymore in nowadays and only some of their people who still practice the traditional Iban.
