Abstract

The aims of this project is developing a mobile application that is a proposed solution to solve the problems faced by the school and parents as there is less communication between parents and teachers, parents have limited updates regarding their children’s academic performance because of time and distance that barrier hinders parents to involve actively in their children’s schooling. Apart from that, this mobile application provides parents with examination records, attendance records and also disciplines records of their children. The objective of this project is to create a Student Tracking Performance that can facilitate two ways of communication between parents and teachers. The application has been developed using Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Android has been chosen as the main mobile platform because most of the users used this platform. Two types of testing have been conducted in order to validate the objectives. The functional testing is focusing on the functionality of every function that exist in application. The non-functionality testing is to measure the effectiveness of the application. The testing session was participated by 10 parents. As for the result, for the attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction (ARCS) model, attention and confidence have achieved highest mean score than the others which is 5.0 respectively and standard deviation of 0.000 respectively. Thus, the results of testing indicate that this project is useful for the parents to monitor their children performance at the school.
