Abstract

The thesis is concerned about the study of identifies the factors affecting emotional portrait work beside factor of lighting. Based on this research, reference artist of researchers is an artist of the 17th century (Rembrandt) and contemporary (David Kassan). At the beginning of the research, researchers have done a study of literature about the factors that influence the emotional portrait work through reading materials, reference works and analyzes. Some of the factors that affecting the emotional portrait work via elements and principles of visual art besides lighting were listed carefully. Next, a literature review and methodology has been made by researchers to collect and consolidate information or evidence relevant to the investigation. Researchers continue to study through qualitative methods. Based on the results of the collection, the researchers found that the advanced research through process observations and experiments on the works of Rembrandt and David Kassan in demand to get solid information. The results of the observations and experiments of some of the selected references work artist's, researchers have analyzed in detail through the available data. The analysis was divided by the researchers in a several methods that include elements, principles visual art and make a detailed description. In this context, researchers compare the technical and concept together with analyze the similarities and differences. Next, the researchers have made an illumination about personal experience toward the training that was done based on artwork Rembrandt and David Kassan. Based on the result of research, researchers have referred to the attractive and suitable work of the artist to be used as a source of inspiration for researchers. Therefore, researchers have applied the factor based on the works that was studied and identified to produce personal xii work in interesting way
