Abstract
This paper studies on the effects of mergers and acquisitions in the various firms in Malaysia that are listed on the Bursa Malaysia. Thirty firms which are chosen randomly that fit the requirement for this study is chosen. The usage of multiple regressions, paired t-test and financial ratios are used to test whether the firms' performance had change due to the M&A. Based on the results obtained; there were no significance changes in the firms operating performance, leverage performance and the firms' profitability. The reason that there is no significance changes may be due to the firms acquiring smaller firms which do not had big effect on the financial performance of the main firms.
