Abstract

E-learning is an online platform that can provide education and training to a significant number of people of different cultural backgrounds and levels of education. Training is one of the most important human resource development activities in growing industries especially manufacturing industry. This project aims to develop a web-based learning management system for training purpose in Perodua, an automobile manufacturing company. Different training methods and approaches are applied to the development of human resource like skills and knowledge. The current challenges faced by Perodua company during training session is preparing the learning materials and keep on track on the trainees’ performance in a conventional way. This web-based system is designed to assist trainers in providing learning materials online and help to evaluate trainees’ performance and assessment through online platform without consuming much time. The chosen methodology to develop the e-learning System for Perodua company is Agile Model. The method for developing this system is by using PHP and MySQL programs. PHP and MySQL programs are a combination that makes it easy to create web system. The expected outcome of this project is to establish a functional web-based system for managing the Perodua company training session through e-learning. The significance of this project is to improve the current Perodua company training method through a web-based system.
