Abstract

Borehole is a hole that is drilled underground to know the soil layer or the sediment of the soil. To discover the soil sediment of the surrounding area, it requires a drilling process at all over the place. This method has a disadvantage which is time consuming and requires high cost which brings burden toward the engineer to explore the land. The solution toward this problem is by using interpolation method where is a useful mathematical calculation for finding any point in between the two points which form a line or curve. Although, the interpolation method is an estimation of values, but the accuracy can be tested on the root mean squared error of the formula compared to the actual data. This proposed system is only available on web application where it is much easier to view on personal computer instead of mobile device. (Jabatan Kerja Raya) JKR officers will provide the relevant data for this system. The data was given in csv format and will be converted in json format for the system to read. The borehole location will be pinpointed on map to make it easier for the user to view and the information regarding the boreholes will be displayed if the point is clicked. The correlation or the cross section between the borehole will be displayed in a scaled figure when the user may choose to find out whichever subsurface. This thesis has clarified the entire development process of the proposed borehole interpolation system. It is documented in chapter by chapter, including introduction, literature review, methodology, implementation, conclusion and future work. By the end of his project, the finalized prototype will be released to client.
