Abstract

The purpose of this study is aims to study the process of designing stage lighting from preproduction, production to post-production through certain concepts in the musical theater Semarak Pertiwiku produced by the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FSGK), University Malaysia Sarawak (UNiMAS) and working with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). The process of producing stage lighting design starts from script analysis and always has discussions with both directors and artistic directors to produce quality theatrical performances. In addition, the researcher has also made a visual study in the process of producing lighting design to convey ideas on stage through lighting effects that function so as to provide appropriate symbolism to the audience in the process of understanding the journey of the story while watching this musical theater staging. So with this, qualitative methods have been used by researchers to carry out this research.
