Abstract

This study aims to investigate multidimensional work ethic that affecting job performance among school teachers at Sarikei, Sarawak. The aspects of multidimensional work ethics that examine in this study include morality, self-reliance, centrality and hard work. The research instruments for this study was used questionnaire to collect data from the respondents. This study was conducted at three different schools which is at Sk. Bukit Nibong, Sk. Nanga Buku and SMK Meradong. 100 sets of questionnaires were distributed to the three different schools and all 100 sets were successfully collected. The data that collected were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0. Descriptive statistic used to explain the demographic characteristics of respondents. Pearson correlation were used to identify the relationship between multidimensional work ethics and job performance. Meanwhile, Multiple Linear Regression tests were used in this study aimed to examine the dominant factor in the relationship between multidimensional work ethics and job performance. The findings showed that centrality and hard work have significant relationships with job performance and the dominant factors are hard work. Through this finding, the organization and human resource practitioners were recommended to understand and fulfill employees’ need to increase their work performance and also help to increase organization productivity.
