Abstract

Employee transfer is not uncommon for employees and superiors. Although employee transfers are common, but so little research on this topic. The purpose of this study to find out the impact of employee transfer among transferee and other colleagues as well as find out the coping strategies for employees that affected by employee transfer. Qualitative studies and case studies have been used to achieve the objectieves of this study involving a total of seven (7) employees who are not in management in the private sector in Sabah. The results of the study found that effect of employee transfer among transferee are an adjustment, lack of support from superiors, and job satisfaction. Meanwhile, the effects of employee transfer among other colleagues are workload, stress, and turnover intention. However, researcher have identified strategies to overcome the impact of employee transfer among employees involved in this issue that is positive thinking and get support form superiors and colleagues. Several suggestions have been suggested to practitioners and organizations to increase productivity of employees and organizations. Some further research suggestions for researchers who want to continue this study are also suggested.
