Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the relationship between safety management practices and safety performance in selected Malaysian oil and gas company. Data were gathered from 42 employees from an oil and gas company in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This research was done by using quantitative method where the data were collected by using online questionnaires as the instrument. The data were then analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Besides, Spearman Correlation test procedure was used to measure the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. The findings have shown that there is a moderate relationship between safety training, management commitment and safety promotion polices with safety performance respectively. Meanwhile, there is a strong relationship between safety communication and feedback with safety performance. As such, the researcher has recommended a focus on the study that may guide the organization and future researchers.
