Abstract

The purpose of this project is to investigate the relationship between each variable which are attitude toward credit cards, media awareness, knowledge of credit cards, convenience and credit card usage among the users in Sarawak. Theory that applied in this study is decision theory which used to explain credit card usage phenomenon with 120 sample respondents from the three main area of Sarawak which are Sibu, Kuching and Kota Samarahan within the age of 21 till 60 years old. The finding of this study shows that there are positive and significant relationship between media awareness and credit card usage, convenience and credit card usage. The variables of attitude toward credit cards and knowledge of credit cards are rejected. Implication, limitation and recommendation will be provided at the end of this report to help the financial institutions or credit card issuers understand more on credit card usage among the users in Sarawak for future improvement and development.
