Abstract

Change efforts have become a common practice for organizations, both private and public sectors. Employee readiness is argued as one of the most significant factors that influences the success of the change plan. This research intends to investigate the organizational factors and individual factors that affecting the employees' readiness for change in the food and beverage services in Kuching, Sarawak. Food and beverage services are facing rapid changes and shifting expectations as well as consumers demands which causes the brands to decide whether to adopt or face the risk go downhill. A quantitative method was adopted and a questionnaire was designed and distributed to the target respondents. A total of 50 respondents were recorded and their data were analyzed. The findings reveal that charismatic leadership and information are significantly related to change readiness. It is also found that communication is the most dominant factor that impacts readiness for change. This study is important because employers can gain insight into what factors are the most prominent in increasing the employees' change readiness. The results also will help to promote the employees' engagement in the implementation of change.
