Abstract

Effectiveness of an organization depends on role of employees. Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is one of the employees' attitudes that can enhance organization performance. Past studies have found many factors that can influence OCB, yet there is limited attention given to goal setting, supervisor feedback, and emotional intelligence. This study was conducted on 105 employees in plantation sector called FELDA to identify the relationship between goal setting, supervisor feedback, and emotional intelligence with OCB. Other than that, this study also identifies the dominant variable among the goal setting, supervisor feedback, and emotional intelligence in influencing OCB. The research methodology used is a quantitative survey approach, using self-administered questionnaire as instruments for data collection. Statistical analyses were done using Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis. Findings shows that all hypotheses recorded in this study such as goal setting, supervisor feedback and emotional intelligence have significant relationship with OCB. The higher goal setting, the higher OCB. Similarly, the higher supervisor feedback and emotional intelligence, the higher OCB. The results comprise that goal setting is a dominant variable that can influence OCB in employees. Therefore, organization should consider maintaining the goal setting culture in a workplace as well as improving the supervisor feedback and employees' awareness of emotional intelligence.
