Abstract
Challenges faced by unimastage in the staging of plays at University Malaysia Sarawak, a case study is Penunggu Pusaka by Zakaria Ariffin and Di Bumi Lain by Kemala. The research method used in this study are qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method was executed by conducting interviews with four informants namely the director for both theaters, founder of unimastage and former lecturer Drama and Theater Programme. The quantitative method was conducted through the distribution of survey forms before the staging to 198 respondents comprising UNIMAS students. The findings of this research highlights five key aspects of staging quality, production quality, ticket prices, audience impact and audience engagement.
