Abstract

Urbanisation creates significant changes in the environment and proper mitigating measures must be attended to reduce adverse alTect in the urban environment. Species diversity index (SOl), diameter breast height (OBH) distribution. soil physical analysis, soil pH analysis, air temperature comparison between asphalt zone and under tree shade, are among the ways to measure the significance impact to the urban environment. Diversity between UNIMAS west campus and UiTM Kota Samarahan were compared. Although the species richness betwcen both campus is almost the same. some species are overrepresented, and many species under represented. The most common species Wodyelia hili/reale contributes 13.18 % or total trees population.
