Abstract
This study was conducted due to inadequate data and lack of study on diversity of Coleoptera in lowland dipterocarp forest. A study on species diversity of nocturnal beetles was conducted at Kubah National Park, Sarawak for 12 days from 271 August 2016 until 151 September 2016 and 51 February 2017 until 101 February 2017. Therefore, the data and voucher specimens that available from this research will be useful as future references and studies on Coleoptera. A total of 497 individuals comprising of 32 species from 16 families were captured by using four Modified Pennsylvanian light traps illuminated with 160 W mercury vapour lamp. In this study, the canopy level has more species and number of individuals which is 26 species and 359 individuals while ground level has 15 species with 138 individuals. Carabidae represented the most diverse family with six species and 282 individuals followed by Scarabaeidae with five species respectively.
