Abstract

These days the rate of transportation burglary cases is higher contrast with earlier year, this prompt to question of our wellbeing and security had been brought up in both open and private segment. Different calculation to recognize question trademark and track moving item had been produced by specialists. To overcome this problem, a transportation tracking system is being developed. The purpose of the system is to track current location transportation in a real-time. In this project, Raspberry Pi model 3B, GY-NEO6MV2 GPS Module, and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Monitor devices are used to setup the system. This tracking system will be equipped inside the public or personal transport. The GPS module will act as a transmitter and receiver of the signal. The signal will be transmitted to the satellite. From this situation, a two-way active communication by the satellite and the GPS module is observed. The information of the location will be sent from the satellite to the tracking device consistently. GPS receiver will analyse the data received and calculate its position from the satellite. Position will be calculated through triangulation method. At least 3 satellite signals are needed in order to obtain exact 2D position while for height above sea level, at least 4 satellite signal is needed to obtain a 3D position. Redundancy method is used to determine accurate position and to avoid atmospheric and reflection influence on GPS signal path. Data stored in Raspberry Pi will be retrieved from time to time. The collected data will be stored in the created webpage. This system also can be used to track lost transportations, to improve the time management of a public transportation, and to estimate the arriving time of the transportation systems.
