Abstract

Plasma cutter is widely used nowadays to cut metals and metal materials. In order to achieve better level of cut precision, a proper machine is needed. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) can be used to assist in plasma cutting process. By using this computer level precision, it is possible to obtain a better level of metal cutting when comparing with traditional technique that is cutting metals with hands. This project focus on building a CNC table that later can be used in plasma metal cutting. The steps involve selecting stepper motors and suitable stepper driver board. This project also focus on developing CNC table, the x and y axis and lastly integrating the entire system into a functional machine. This CNC is fully controlled by computer software named Mach3 that is developed by Artsoft.
