Abstract
Six organotin(IV) complexes of 2-acetylpyridine-4-hyroxybenzhydrazone ligand (I) with RnSnC14•n (R=Me, Bu and Ph; n = I, 2) have been synthesized in the presence of base and refiuxing methanol in 1: I: I mole ratio (metal:base:ligand). Another two diorganotin(IV) complexes of benzoylacetone-phenylhydrazone ligand (2) in 1: 1: I mole ratio (metal:base:ligand) have also been synthesized with same method. All organotin(IV) complexes (3-10) have been characterized using CHN analyses, UV-Visible and IR spectral studies. All organotin(lV) complexes (3-10) are non electrolytic in nature. Spectral studies suggested that the ligand (I) act as a mononinegative tridentate while the ligand (2) act as a mononegetive bidentate nature in their organotin(IV) complexes. Therefore, a five and six both coordinated molecular structure has been proposed for all the mentioned organotin(lV) complexes.
