Abstract

Jon chromatography (IC) is a type of liquid chromatography often used for many years as a separation method for the analysis of common inorganic anions in natural water and wastewater. Many research has been done using ion chromatography for the analysis of anions. and it is proven that ion chromatography have significant advantages over other alternative techniques. Optimization on the experimental procedure was conducted to jmprove the previous routine method for the simultaneous detennination of mUltiple anions in water by using ion chromatography. By careful selection of the concentration of the carbonate eluent and flow rate. the analysis was carried out in about 19 minutes. The best conditions were obtained using 3.2mMol Na,CDjl.O NaHCD, with O. 7mLimin flow rate was applied for the analysis of water samples taken from UNIMAS Lake and drain.
