Abstract

This study aims to identify the need for pre-retirement program prepration. The study has been conducted at Sektor Perkhidmatan, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Sarawak Jalan Simpang Tiga, Kuching Sarawak. The researcher used questionnaire as the instrument to gain feedback from all the 53 selected respondents. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (Windows) version 9.0. Frequency, percentage and mean were /lsed to explain respondents demografy and level of needs for pre-retirement program prepration. T-test and One way ANOVA analysis show that no significant difference between gender and education. To identify the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables, coleration Pearson Test has been used. Every hypotesis will be accepted if the p value is at significant level of0.05. However, the hypothesis will be rejected ifthe p value is less than the significant level of 0.05. 7 hyphotesis in this research were accepted while 2 hypotesis were rejected. The findings showed that financial problem, health problem and new career influenced the need to set-up pre-retirement program. Majority ofthe respondent, 49 persons or 92 %, hope that the organization should pay attention to this matter and provide a specific program for preretirement. Thus, it can motivate them to adjust themselves in a new life.
