Abstract

This study is focused on the use of bacterial pigment for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The unknown bright pink-pigmented bacteria are identified by conducting the morphological, biochemical, and spectrometry analyses. The results show that almost all morphological and biochemical tests results are similar to the previous studies that identifying Methylobacterium sp. For the spectrophotometry analysis, the maximum absorbance peak at 300 nm shows the absorbance value for the solvent due to the low concentration of the pigment. The DSSC efficiency result has recorded a very low open circuit voltage and it is not enough for the current-voltage curve graph construction to determine DSSC efficiency.
